They have some very good prices for the left over 2015 on the lot.

I can afford one.

GM is giving great deal for trade in. ( I have a 1999 extended cab right now )

...thing is... I have a baby coming sometime next year

edit : if I buy this I will be cutting deep into my LS1 miata fund ( I got as far as stripping the miata and got the engine out of the camaro)

I’m a fan of the GM trucks myself so I can’t talk you out of it. Now if where a Ford/Ram/Toyota I would have many arguments.

I love the looks of the GM twins, it’s what a truck should look like.

I haven’t driven a newer one, but my friend just bought one while he’s stationed up in Alaska and LOVES it.

He deliberated across the big three for a long time, but landed on the Chevy. In his opinion, he said he liked the engine WAY better than the Ford’s, and found it to be a more comfortable drive. Price’s were similar at the time if I remember correctly.

Never hurts to go talk to the dealer, either. I found one GMC dealer ready to give away the farm to get their volume for the month. Ended up finding a better dealer on a 2 year old trade-in, though.

I don’t think I could bring myself to buy a brand new truck personally, but with how well these things hold value, a big enough discount might make it worth your while. If you live in Metro Detroit or somewhere else with a bunch of GM employees, try to track down someone with family and friends codes. Dealers usually honor those on top of current offers.

This is pretty much the wrong place to come ask for people to talk you out of automotive purchases. Unless maybe it was a Prius. And even then I think the overall outcome would be neutral at best/worst.

I didn’t forget to mention them, when you mention the others the nissan is automatically mentioned since it looks like a F150 on the out side, a GM on the inside, the tailgate from a Toyota and a engine like the ram. (yes i know it’s not the same motor, but hey it’s got a cummins)

Do you really need a full-size truck?

Maybe you’d be better served with the Colorado.

It’s awful easy to get what is supposed to be a work truck up into Mecedes E-Class territory.

And even though it likely has cylinder deactivation, it’s still a pig on gas.

Also, unless you’re a Chevy fan boy, there may be a reason why the F-150 has been the best-selling full-size truck in North American for almost half a century.

I didn’t consider the colorado because the v8 silverado resale value is so much better

E-class is 50k easy, the Silverado I am looking at is in the high 20 - low 30k range

I am a LS1 fan boy lol

if you the combine silverado + sierra vs F150 sales its another story

Well you asked to be talked out of the Silverado. So i am helping you realize your dream. Plus it isn’t really the same truck. The Sierra range is above the Silverado and is a bit nicer. Plus just make friends with someone who works at a GMC dealership near you and get a good deal.
